What a Week!

This past week was a rough one on the truck. We had picked up the potatoes in Idaho and were on our way. In the middle of Wyoming I stopped to fuel and noticed the reefer was not working. We had to take it to the shop and the nearest one in the direction we were headed was 500 miles away. Chris couldn't sleep after that. Once we got a new starter he kept driving. In Nebraska, right before the Iowa border we blew a tire on the trailer. It took the mud flap with it and bent the bar the flap hangs on. In 16 miles was a place to get it fixed but in 14 miles was a weigh station. For the first time since we've been Dobson Transport (almost 2 years now) we were pulled in for a full inspection. We were put out of service because of the tire and had to have someone come out and fix it. This means we had to pay much more to get it fixed. Grrr. On top of all this, our truck was making a noise that sounded like the transmission slipping. We had taken the truck in the weekend before to have them fix it but they couldn't find anything wrong with it. However it was still there and getting progressively worse. It was not a good week. Chris hardly got any sleep because he was so stressed out and we were afraid we might not make it home. But we were blessed eventually and did make it back. So this week our truck is in the shop. It turned out to not be the tranny, but the rear differential. That means... a week off. It was actually a good week for it to happen because we were able to:

*Go to Logan and help Robyn and Gordon clean out their apartment (more on that later)

*Help my mom do some raking
* Spend time with Chris's sister 'Nara
* Vacuum my entire house and mop the floors
* Watch an ATM being worked on (it was kind of cool)
*Play with Bella while Ryan and Tiff were at the hospital (more on that, too)
*Take the Jeep up Skyline drive
* Catch up on every one's blogs
* Listen to all my Willie Nelson music
* And most important... Spend more time with each other!
And the week's not over yet...

What an awful week! How come everything goes wrong at the same time? Have you ever noticed that? It seems if one thing breaks, everything else has to break too. I'm glad you made it home safely.
