River Rafting

For the Memorial Day weekend, Chris and I went with his brother Alex and sister-in-law Lacey to Green River to go rafting. It was so much fun. We got to the campsite about 3:00 on Sunday and came home Monday afternoon but it felt like we were there all weekend. It was a blast. Great weather and even better company. The river was running pretty high because of the snow melt so there were even a few rapid-ish places. No one fell in which was a good thing since the water was really cold, and for the most part we all stayed dry...until the very end. When we were within site of our "landing zone" we hit a really big wave and it soaked Lacey and me. Brrrr. We thought we could dry off by laying in the sun while we waited for the boys to go pick up the Jeep (we shuttled ourselves) but the sun went behind some clouds. It was going to take them almost an hour to get back to us so Lacey and I decided to push/pull/carry/drag/hoist/drop the raft back to our campground. It wasn't very far. But far enough. We were pretty tired by the time we were done but we were dry Ü. Then we relaxed for just a few minutes before cleaning up camp, taking down Lacey's tent, and making lunch. In the end it was a good thing we did because it started to rain just as we were packing up to go. All in all, it was a blast. We are hoping to go again in June/July with my side of the family. Here are a few pictures from our trip... Here is our camp. Chris and I by the river. Our rented raft (pretty cheap, too!). Lacey and me. Chris and Alex.
